The project
What ?
A friend and I had thought to make a sort of "family tree" showing the development and variations of the reprap project (and it's inspired cousins).
The goal : is to have a nice graphic and to print some sexy poster, maybe by pre-ordering a batch with the help of a kickstarter'like to share them with the world.
The chart is now organized, we may try some other concepts, from a simple visualization with picto to a machinable version ^^ (printed/engraved)
I don't know what the final license of the artwork will be, but certainly a creative commons.
When ?
Our deadline : mid-June (cause it will be cool to display it for the opening of the http://fablabsquared.org/ during Futur en Seine in Paris)

As one can presume, since the Mendel the projects seems to flourish :)

To Do ?
Add a comparison table of the different machines (for some spec) as a legend (maybe that's another project). RepRap - Tableau comparatif, just for the link, we need to refine that.

An interesting post by Forrest Higgs, when looking at the evolution model of the reprap.
Basically, Reprap has two models of evolution going on in parallel. In the core team, we see what I will call a punctuated animal model of evolution while the larger reprap community is a very vibrant bacterial model.
