Pretty experienced engineer (mobile radio systems, electronics) but beginner in the 3D-Printing world.

I am also fiddling with mills and lathes, so I probably do not really dig the "self-replicating" part of RepRap. Still, I am amazed by what is possible with plastic parts and limited precision machines.
