Alternative Controllers
- PIC electronics [(generation 1 electronics)]
The PIC electronics have been supersceded for the "Darwin" model. The PIC electronics are still being developed as a variant.
- Arduino electronics [(generation 2 electronics)]
This is the main supported variation
- Sanguino electronics
The sanguino can be used as a virtually a drop-in replacement for the Arduino. The pin out is different and so it is not compatible with the arduino breakout board if you wish to use it.
The sanguino is also cited as the controller for the next generation electronics. It can also be used as a virtually a drop-in replacement for the Sanguino. A blog entry
