2.1 - I think you've missed the point of "extruder as app". Extrusion might be just one of the functions of the robot. There are problems with the idea, but not the one you've given.

2.2 - Okay. What do you think of his idea as compared to your version of it?

2.3 - Recently there was a class where they used 3D printers to make a functional engine at 1:20 scale. There was a lot of machining and effort involved, but it was done. It might be possible to make a 3D printed vacuum motor.....I think i'll have to look into that...
