Profile
(Yes I know, Not everyone likes to be Profiled but it does help the police find people.)
- Name: David
- Age: 20's-30's
- Country: Canada
- Province: Alberta
- Field of Study: Combined Computer Science and Business Management.
- Likes: almost all Food, Computers, Woodworking, Challenges I can learn from, Girls.
- Dislikes: People who willing cease to use their brains for thought, or anything useful for that matter.
- Future Aspirations: To start my own technology development company/school. (aka to be a modern day inventor)
My Goals:
- To build a RepStrap/CNC platform that has quickly Interchangeable/Multiple Tool-heads.
- To contribute to the RepRap community, via wiki, and hopefully The sale of RepRaps kits/parts to help this commuinty grow.
- Learn More than what I already know.
- To help in the development of a basic sewing machine / Embroidery attachment for the RepRap. (Assuming, I get a Reprap built 1st)
Current Status:
(The only reason this isnt on a development yet is because I am still getting parts, Once I get my frame stuff I will start a page)
- Aquiring Parts to build a RepRap Here is what I have so far:
- Motors: Sanyo Denki, Nema 17, Bi-Polar 6 wire stepper motors, Type: 102H5208-10U41 , apx. 40oz-in holding torque.
- Drivers: On order, components for "EasyDrivers" which provides 750mAmps at up to 30v per phase.
- you can buy them from Sparkfun.com but I wanted to make my own)
- The Brain (aka BRAIN!): I purchase a "Seeedduino mega" when it was on sale and think it is are great so I am planning on using it(even if it is overkill).
- Structure (aka Frame): 8 Hardened steel rods I salvaged from a bunch of old printers for the slides, Threaded rods are on oreder same with nuts
- Corners (aka the pieces that make those annoying angles): Probably will manufacture these out of mdf since I am handy like that.
So in essence My first reprap will actually be a repstrap/ wolfstrap since it uses wood, but hey it is cheaper than trying to buy the plastic parts since anyone I can find wants to charge a (explict descriptive here) for them.
