I just added prices to this page, but then noticed under history that the last edit was "No prices, please". I don't want to step on any toes, but to me pricing seems like an important part of a "buyers guide". Thoughts?

Bad idea, unless you guarantee me to check all prices every week for the next two years. Prices change very often and vedors rarely care to adjust them here in the wiki. Also, a bare price says nothing about the value, as the completeness of kits differ. High quality kits tend to be more expensive than basic ones. --Traumflug 09:24, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. Maybe out of date prices are still better than none. Perhaps an "As of" tag would be appropriate.
The ideal solution would be for this to update automatically. I did some research to see if it's possible to hotlink text the same way images are hotlinked. Hotlinking images/video is rude due to bandwidth usage on the site you're pulling from, but text shouldn't be a big deal. I couldn't find an easy way to do this, but there seems to be a workaround. Unfortunately, it's well beyond my abilities. http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t119236-txt-src-equivalent-of-img-src.html It should also be possible using Java, but unfortunately I've never used that language. Maybe someday someone smarter than me will figure out how to do this.
Another option is to update the page manually, but use a website monitoring tool (like ChangeDetection.com or by installing WebMon) to receive a notification whenever one of the prices changes. This would be fine for now, but would be more work as the vendor list grows. --Macon 20:05, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
