- Print Volume (approx.): 200mm x 200mm x 200mm
First you have the heatbed which usually allows for a 200mm x 200mm print area give or take a couple of mm. The vertical clearance is determined by various factors among other things extruder build and whatever you have hanging on top of the frame (LCD panel, filament spool holder, etc) as well as of course the frame dimensions along the Z-axis, but again a good approximation for the Prusa i3 is 200mm vertical clearance. Conclusion: a print volume of 8l, approximately.

I have added a few bits that I was able to piece together for the history of the Prusa i3, anybody who has more accurate information please edit/correct/complement what I wrote. Thank you.
