Alternative Approach to A Nozzle?

Here are two designs for paste nozzles. Instead of forcing material perfectly straight down, they appear to let it trail behind the nozzle a little. Implementing this would require an additional axis, and I'm guessing the firmware would need to keep the slit at a tangent to the tool path (or the CAM software could do it in G-code, maybe?). It's beyond my skill level, but it looks interesting, so I'm putting it out there.
