Tidying Darwin STL files

The files for the Darwin design wil be made available using AoI in due course. For the moment we have put out a set of STL files for it on Sourceforge here that work well enough, but which need to be imported into AoI then subjected to the "Simplify mesh" and "Optimise mesh" options of the "Solid Editor" in the "tools" menu to reduce their size. Several people are kindly helping with this and e-mailing me the results. When I get a tidied file, I will log it here, so people know what still remains.

Instructions

Here's what to do:

• File -> Import -> STL (.stl) (remember the file name you loaded as you will want it when exporting)
• Select the object and convert it to a triangle mesh (in the "Object" dropdown). If asked for an accuracy, choose 0.05.
• Select "Solid Editor..." from the "Tools" dropdown.
• In the new window "Optimise" the mesh from the "Mesh" dropdown. If asked for an accuracy, choose 0.01.
• "Simplify" the mesh from the "Mesh" dropdown.
• Click on "O.K."
• File -> Export -> STL (select binary, naming it the same but without the -SE)
