Stepper Paste Extruder

This page is to document the development of a paste extruder using a Nema17 stepper motor. The idea behind a stepper paste extruder would be to unleash the possibilities of RepRaps printing with materials besides thermoplastics, while using easy to access materials. To maintain design simplicity, the syringe barrel will be secured to extruder body, while the syringe plunger will be directly connected to screw shaft.

Design Evolution

Alpha design of Stepper Paste Extruder.
Alpha Design.

Current problems with alpha design are in concern to its overall height in reference to the Prusa Z axis. Current work on beta design will primarily address this issue.
