HOWTO: Converting A RepStrap To A Full-blown RepRap

This section doesn't exist yet because RepRap v1.0 isn't complete. However the steps are likely to be something like the below.

The RepStrap can only produce parts of one material, so it is used to make structural parts first.

  1. Produce the basic frame and other mechanics for a complete RepRap, without embedded electronics etc.
  2. Produce RepRap extruders and extruder carousel
  3. Move motors and electronics (still on stripboard) onto the new RepRap frame.

This will leave a completely functional RepRap, though it is not a true RepRap because it has some stripboard controllers and so on. The final step is to produce a new RepRap using the machine, which will be a full-blown and complete RepRap.
