CARP Box Documentation
Main improvements
Compared to previous CARP prototype:
- Added Z axis frame for better stability and sturdiness
- X axis frame and carriage redesigned for dual extruder with maximal distance of nozzles 25mm
- mounting holes for two bowden extruders were designed on sides of the printer
- Added holes and openings for cable management
- Added holes for EURO connector and power switch
- Filament spool holder was made a part of the printer
- Timing belt clamp for GT2 was prepared
- Prepared mounting holes for different sizes of power supplies
- Ready for Sanguinololu 1.3a and Arduino Mega with RAMPS 1.4 electronics
- Joints redesigned to use standard lengths of M3 screws
- Extruder changed to use E3D an J-Head hotends instead of Reprapworld v5
Pending improvements
To be done on current version of CARP Box:
- Mounting for display with keyboard and SD card
- Dual head worm gear extruder for 1.75 and 3 mm filament
- Optical endstops in X and Y axis and proximity sensor for Z homing and heatbed levelling
