Overview

0x00 (NULL) is a collection of various community improvements and designs for the standard Prusa Mendel. 0x00 started as an Open_Hybrid_Mendel printer, but many flaws prevented fast, accurate, and precise printing. In order to keep the cost down, few hardware vitamins were added or replaced. The non-printed improvements were metal GT2 pulleys and belts and metal Z couplings. The ball bearings were replaced by printed LM8UU bushings. The vitamin count was also reduced through using larger prints instead of several smaller ones that would be bolted together.

0x00 is accurate to ~0.1mm in all axes and can print perimeters at 50mm/s and infill at 100mm/s reliably. Prints at double that speed have been done, but the chances of the hot tip snagging on the print are much higher due to curling of infill or overhangs. Improvements in cooling may fix this.
