Inspiration

After my previous work I finally found someone who did what I was trying/looking for.

I also wanted to design a vertical carriage with linear bearings, but mixed with the V9 (direct drive, no damn PTFE, no mouting block) to make it even simpler. And thus came this "carriage-struder".

V0.1 (not tested yet)

When looking back at the eMaker, maybe two LM8UU can be enough ?

Benefits

  • only 2 pieces (in replacement of 5-10 pieces, compared to the original sells carriage or the prusa or the open-x-carriage, plus an extruder)
  • with LM8UU (locked by zip-tie)
  • active cooling with a little fan, mounted on only one point to just rotate it if needed to access at the inside/unmount the hotend
  • a very compact/accessible extruder ^^

I'll also have to redesign the x-ends later...

Also on Thingiverse (but I prefer the wiki to manage the versions, I tried github but maybe not for me yet)

X-ends

And the x-ends that will have to be tested too :

The spacing between the Z rods are for a Sells Mendel, to replace the classic x-axis (don't checked for a Prusa but if different that may not be difficult to adapt and re-export)
