RepRap 2.0 "Mendel"
Specification
The "Mendel" design is expected to offer several improvements over the "Darwin" design. A provisional list of improvements (gleaned from conversations in e-mail between participants) is:
- Use of PLA as main plastic feedstock.
- Metal deposition head.
- Capable of manufacturing own electronics.
- Automated exchangeable head mechanism.
- USB Interface.
- DC Servos instead of stepper motors.
