I faked a contact tensegrity cube lacking a solid modeler by creating negative spaces corresponding to slotted box extrusions in a larger cube and exporting a wireframe rendering in eMachineShop. The contact tensegrity is a lower cost way to implement the primary Bateson version. Embedded synchronized steppers in a conventional cube is another way.
