For use with firmware as well as software:

- 3mm feedstock and a 0.50 mm nozzle
- Stepper motors are 1.8° per step or 200 steps per revolution
- Driven by Pololu A4983 drivers with 1/16th microstepping
- X & Y axes
- 8 tooth pulley using XL drive belt
- (steps per motor revolution) ÷ (drive belt teeth per revolution) ÷ (belt pitch OR distance between belt teeth) = steps per millimeter
- 200 (without microstepping) ÷ 8 (default pulley) ÷ 5.08 mm = 4.921 steps per mm
- With 1/16 microstepping = 78.74 steps per mm
- 10 tooth pulley (10t XL Pulley for SAE Prusa Mendel by BenJackson) using XL drive belt
- 200 (without microstepping) ÷ 10 ÷ 5.08 mm = 3.937 steps per mm
- With 1/16 microstepping = 62.99 steps per mm
- 8 tooth pulley using XL drive belt
