2.1 - So, aside from the chips, what else can we possibly replace? There are alternative means to create stepping action without motors, so that's one.

2.2 - It also means that you don't have to be rich anymore to have your own means of production. One might also consider the less material types of value which it also gives.

2.3 - What sort of demand is there for reprap? Do you see the small business 3DP market overrunning them? Which designs would be more fit for reproduction?
