I would format this as an equation, but I'm getting this error: "Failed to parse (PNG conversion failed; check for correct installation of latex, dvips, gs, and convert): \frac{Expected_{stepspermm}}{Actual_{stepspermm}} = \frac{Expected_{distanceTraveled}}{Actual_{distanceTravel}}"

There are other pages with equations that works fine, but if I change anything from the exact equation they have, it no longer displays. Wikipedia says this: "To have math rendered in a particular MediaWiki installation, one has to set $wgUseTeX = true; in LocalSettings.php." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Displaying_a_formula

Here's the equation I'm trying to get to display:

<math>V_{max} = k(T_{HotEnd}-T_{softening})</math>

Sorry for the trouble. --Macon 23:08, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I saw the same problem (and mentioned it at Wiki Administration). It appears that there was some temporary glitch, but apparently someone saw your note and fixed it. TeX seems to be working today. Thank you, Macon. I left both versions of the formula in this article -- the "pretty TeX" version that seems to work today, and the "simple HTML" version that works even during TeX glitches. --DavidCary (talk) 10:57, 3 March 2014 (PST)
