build platform rotation vs powder bed

could we not achieve overhang by shifting the build platform at an angle? You would need to still be able to reach the target area under that angle but moving build platforms have been done and why not tilting build platforms? how much overhang can currently be achieved without supports? 90 degrees - current angle is the angel we'd need to be able to tilt the build platform by.

Is that a viable alternative to a powder bed. A powder bed has the disadvantage of not being able to incorporate enclosed spaces or porous materials. A lot of powder may also be lost during the freeing of the part from the bed. --Robinmdh 14:43, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
