Could the circuit or firmware not be slightly modified to allow you to connect the output of the extruder MOSFET be connected to the input of the Heated bed MOSFET, this would then save you having to solder a pin onto the gate. GilesBathgate 13:03, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Is it possible to just connect the heater and thermistor to the extruder controller where you normally connect an extruder heater and thermistor, and heat the bed that way?
I have an extra extruder controller and I'm considering just doing that, but i don't know what's involved.
