Saying MDF expands with heat as a disadvantage is daft if it indeed expands less than steel, that would make it an advantage.

Saying that acrylic cracks is like saying glass cracks, or even steel. It doesn't crack if you don't abuse it, otherwise it would be a useless plastic. --Nophead 11:34, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

I thought the disadvantages section looked like it was stretching it for balance. The biggest disadvantage I see is that not many have been built yet. MDF is a mixture of wood and glue, so it is reasonable to expect it might have a wood-like CTE. One flavor of MDF has a CTE of 6.8e-6 / C, per http://www.gp.com/build/product.aspx?pid=5765 which is about half of steel's CTE per http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/linear-expansion-coefficients-d_95.html . Maybe under Advantage side I'll add that if you cut a panel wrong, it would be easier to cut another out of a full sheet of MDF than uncut some all-thread. ;) DaveX 19:03, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Good design. Looks similar to my old design but i use metal holders.

The 10mm version should be the standard model. Are all those different kinds of screws necessary?

Acrylic is known to be prone for cracks. And i can confirm that... --IRBaboon

Sorry for taking this over. Feel free to delete anything I've said. And I'll make an instructions page. AdrianKelly 02:46, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

I've seen a few working Mendel90s around, do you think we can change this from Experimental to Working? AdrianKelly 23:47, 18 April 2012 (UTC)Done --Nophead 16:24, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I've noticed that on the disadvantages, it lists dibond and says it's cheaper than acrylic. Where do you get dibond cheaper than acrylic. I've look and seen it for 2-3 times the price of acrylic. Technoj (talk) 12:52, 27 January 2015 (PST)
