In this section I showing more or less how the mechanics should be assembled. This page was done by Tatubias. Please update with your images and better explanation text.

Here you can see more or less all the basics parts that you require. You can see all printed parts. also nuts, screws, rods, stepper motors, drivers, etc

First cut and drill the base. I did sent them to laser cut and laser drill to avoid misalignments. Then paint them with the color that you want. I used MDF wood. Glue with silicon Rubbers to avoid nuts scratch the table surface.

Put the bolts and nuts to the 2 laterals and tighten them (not too much, we require them loose so later we can align all the machine).

Then add the support for the Y axis

Put nuts and bolt to the y rods support. Leave them somewhat loose so that you can align them with the machine structure.

Note: here I recommend to install the end stop as it will be more complicated to do this later.


Get the plate where drilling will happen and add the supports for the pcb. Add the nuts to all the parts. In the back part add the support and the linear bearings. Do NOT tighten too much (this will be done later during alignment).

In the back part, now you will be installing the anti backslash system. Install the nuts and bolts. Don't tighten these too much either.

Now we will assemble the y axis. In the picture below all the required parts are visible.

This is how it looks fully assembled from below.

Mount the plate into the machine. Don't tighten the rods to the structure.

Tighten all the nuts and bolts from the y axis

Now its time to align the plate. Move the plate to one of the sides, then tighten all the nuts and bolts.

Then move the plate to the other side and tighten all the nuts and bolts. If you did not add the end stop yet, add it now.

So far we've assembled the base, the basic structure, and the y axis. Now it's time to assemble the X axis and the Y axis

Install the linear bearing on the X carriage and put in the nuts and bots. Don't tighten too much.

Now we will assemble the X axis.

Install the rod into the structure. Don't tighten too much either.

NOTE: do not install the nut in the picture below, it is not needed!

Now it's time to mount the Z axis. Get the threaded rod for the Z axis, add 2 nuts, and mount it as on the photograph.

NOTE: The bottom nut is not needed, do not install it!

Now add the bearing, and the other nut (ignore the bottom one in the picture!)

Add the smooth rods.

Mount the bearing and the linear bearing.

Mount the motor, and mount all into the smooth rods

Now install the gears.

Now add the gears for the x axis
