Description

Another Extruded Aluminum Cartesian Bot.

This is 800 pixels wide, and on the left.

Structure:
Flexlink XC aluminum structural tslot extrusion.

Configuration:
Similar to Mendel.

Build Volume:
33cm High x 30cm Wide (X) x 23.5cm Deep (Y)

Materials:
Aluminum extrusion.

Note: After printing and using a Mendel for some time. I have decided that XCBot is not worth 'filling out', with respect to specific build information.

While it prints fine, and is very robust.. the cost was about 1000 euros, and there are core aspects of the design that I would not reccommend. Specifically the Z axis sliders.. were expensive and not as good as the bearing configuration on the X and Y. XCBot much louder in operation, due to the radiative nature of the materials.. and the NEMA 23 motors.

Additionally, it is my opinion that anyone who could fabricate the custom parts, would likely 'go their own way'... so the effort to 'finish' this description would be better spent on other things.

This bot seems to be named after FlexLink's brand of extruded t-slot, series XC. [4]
