Hi! I'm Prof Braino

The part of the project I'm interested in is applying the Parallax Propeller to the RepRap CNC

There's a discussion of this at

http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?129448-Prop-based-CNC-3D-printer/

My first attempts is a mendel prusa with modified Wader's extruder, MakerGear hot-end, and Solidoodle Sanguino electronics.

This is to be a base line system. Once its working, the plan is to replace the Sanguino with a prop solution.

This should allow an apples to apples comparison for cost, complexity, accuracy etc.

This guess is that there may be some advantages to having 8 cores of 32 bits running at 80Mhz.

My other project is Propforth for the parallax propeller

There may or may not be an advantage to using propforth for the printer firmware, but it should be fun to write.

I'm a Software Quality Engineer by trade, so I do process analysis for the software development lifecycle. Often folks ask me to participate in requirements analysis, documentation and testing on various aspect of their projects, when they want other people to understand their work.

If you get bugs or questions about your work, you could to talk to somebody like me to figure out how to fix it.
