Talk:Endstop

Why are limit switches referred to as endstops in this wiki and in 3D printing generally speaking? I would argue that the term "limit switch" is more widely used internationally and more precise. What are the advantages/disadvantages of using the term "endstop" as compared with "limit switch?"
