Installeren van Arduino

Download de software via De officiële Arduino website, pak deze uit en installeer de drivers van Arduino (Windows). In Ubuntu linux zijn er geen extra drivers nodig, en is arduino ook te downloaden via het software center.

Wanneer je een 'echte' (MEGA, UNO, Duemillanove, Nano etc.) Arduino gebruikt hoef je niet nog een extra Sanguino uitbreiding te installeren bij Arduino.

Firmware compilen

Download de sourcecode vanuit github

Als Firmware kun je op dit moment het beste Sprinter gebruiken deze is solide, en continu in ontwikkeling. Download sprinter. Ga naar de sketch folder (De plek waar je Arduino bestanden worden opgeslagen, meestal in /home/jouwnaam/gekozennaam/ of C:/documents and settings/jouwnaam/gekozennaam/ . Deze plek heb je gekozen bij de eerste keer starten van Arduino), deze plek is ook te vinden in Arduino IDE via file > preferences. En pak de sprinter firmware daar uit.

Open of herstart nu Arduino en ga naar File > Sketchbook > kliment-Sprinter-52f7f30 > Sprinter . Je hebt nu de source code van je 3D-printer in beeld. Het belangrijkste gedeelte is de code onder Configuration.h, dit zijn namelijk de instellingen van je 3D-printer.

Probeer de code eens te compilen; dit betekend dat het programma wordt geschreven naar machinecode. Wanneer dit lukt klopt alles. Selecteer eerst de juiste hardware; via Tools > Board > Arduino MEGA (Of een ander type board, maar dan moeten er nog aanpassingen in de code worden gedaan...) Compilen doe je door op het meest linkse pijltje te klikken. Als het goed is verschijnt er in het onderste vak "Binary sketch size: 48178 bytes (of a 126976 byte maximum)" of iets soortgelijks.

Hieronder gaan we even door de code heen, het commentaar spreekt vaak voor zich. Maar soms is wat toelichting wel handig.

Software installeren

Nu heb je nog software voor op je computer nodig om met RepRap te kunnen communiceren; hier zijn verschillende versies van. De bekendste zijn:

ReplicatorG

In de map van replicatorG zit een mapje genaamd machines; open deze en open dan reprap.xml . Dit zijn de instellingen van de software. Zoek op klimentkip en kijk of de instellingen kloppen met je firmware; vooral de BAUDRATE. Waarschijnlijk klopt het gewoon...

Nu kun je replicatorG openen en hem laten verbinden met je printer.

Printrun

Bij Printrun hoeft niet van te voren ingesteld te worden; in principe moet die meteen werken, de baudrate kan in het programma zelf worden aangepast.
